LAYTON, Utah, June 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified a 33-year-old woman who died in a rollover crash in Layton Saturday evening.

Layton City Police officials said the deceased is Ashley Walker.

The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. in the area of 1300 N. Main St., Layton City Police Sgt. Brent Ericksen told Gephardt Daily.

Walker was driving southbound, with witnesses reporting she was traveling at a high rate of speed when she collided with the rear end of a pickup truck.

That collision caused Walker’s vehicle to roll into the northbound lanes, and a third vehicle hit her.

Walker passed away. It’s not known at this stage whether she died at the scene or after she was transported to the hospital, Ericksen said. She was the only person in that vehicle.

The two people who were in the car traveling northbound were injured. Their condition is not known at this time, Ericksen added. Both were transported to area hospitals.

The man who was driving the pickup truck, who was the only occupant of that vehicle, was not injured.

At this time, it’s not thought that there were other contributing factors to the crash such as alcohol or drugs.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
