Update: Officials ID semi driver killed on US-6 in Utah County

UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified the driver of a semi-trailer hauling juice who died Tuesday evening when the vehicle rolled on U.S. Highway 6.

The deceased is Patrick Morlan, 36, from Hillsboro, Texas, Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The crash occurred at about 6:22 p.m. at mile marker 206 on westbound US-6, the news release said.

Mile marker 206 is near the east end of Spanish Fork Canyon.

“For an unknown reason, the semi-tractor and trailer combination left the roadway and rolled a significant portion down a hillside,” the news release said.

Morlan was the only person in the semi and died as a result of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
