SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Oct. 6, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have released the name of a woman who died after being involved in a three-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday night.
The deceased is Ellie Jane Brooks, 42, of South Salt Lake.
According to Gary Keller, public information officer, South Salt Lake Police, Brooks was transported to the hospital in critical condition after the 9:30 p.m. rollover collision at 2800 S. State St. She had been ejected from the SUV she was driving.
On Thursday afternoon, a news release from SSLPD said she had passed away. Her name was withheld at that time, pending notification of family.
“It looks like the SUV was traveling northbound on State Street,” said police Sgt. Josh Suazo at the scene. “We believe a Dodge collided with it. The SUV rolled. My understanding was an ejection of the woman in the SUV, that she was under it.”
The Dodge then hit a second car, Suazo said. Those inside were not seriously hurt, but went to the hospital to be assessed, he said.
The crash investigation is still underway, according to the Saturday night news release from Keller.
A GoFundMe account has been established in Brooks’ name.
She leaves behind 3 children.
