DELTA, Utah, March 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a man who was taken into custody Saturday morning shortly after a terminated pursuit by Utah Highway Patrol troopers in Millard County.

The suspect has been identified as Christian Harmond, 27, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, UHP said Sunday morning.

A previous news release said that troopers responded to a hit and run near Eureka on State Route 36 Saturday at approximately 6:50 a.m.

“Troopers located the suspect vehicle a short time later on SR-6 heading towards Delta. The black 2016 Ford Explorer refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. UHP Troopers and Millard County deputies were involved in the pursuit as it approached Delta before officers terminated the pursuit.”

The SUV continued to flee, and made its way into a residential area, the statement says.

“The vehicle crashed into a ditch near 400 S. and 700 E. in Delta. Troopers and deputies were able to get the male driver out of the vehicle and into custody. The vehicle was stolen from a body shop in Tooele sometime overnight”
