SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, July 24, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a man killed in a car-motorcycle crash in Salt Lake City on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Craig O. Kruse, 42, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

The accident happened just after 1:15 p.m. on 400 South and 600 West.

“Kruse was eastbound on his motorcycle when he started drifting across the lanes and collided head on with a blue Acura RDX in the westbound lane,” the news release said. “The Acura had three occupants; one occupant went to an area hospital in a private vehicle with very minor injuries.”

Kruse was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation; Salt Lake City police public information officer Greg Wilking said Tuesday excessive speed may have been a factor.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this story as information is made available.
