LEHI, Utah, Sept. 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) –- Police have identified a woman who died after a collision between a dump truck and a passenger car Saturday morning in Lehi.

The deceased is Julia Perez, 44, from Eagle Mountain, according to Lehi Police Department officials.

The accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of 2300 West and Pioneer Crossing.

Sgt. L. Lewis, of the Lehi Police Department, said a black sedan driven by a man, with a woman and two children as passengers, was headed east when it hit a northbound dump truck that had just entered the intersection on a green light.

The woman, later identified as Perez, was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. The man and children, who were wearing seat belts, received only minor injuries. The dump truck driver, alone in his vehicle, was unhurt.

The crash is still under investigation, but at this time officials do not believe speed or impairment were contributing factors.
