NEPHI, Utah, June 14, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A “small child alert” issued Wednesday by the Juab County Sheriff’s Office has been lifted after a missing red tail boa constrictor was found close to home.

According to officials, the owner of the 7-and-a-half foot snake returned to his residence in Nephi and found his pet’s cage open and empty. Sheriff’s officials issued the alert due to fears a snake of that size could harm a small child.

But according to officials, the case was solved about 5 hours after the mystery arose, when the cold-blooded reptile was found … well hidden … chilling out in the basement of its own home.
