SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — All four people involved in Thursday’s head-on collision between three West High School students and a pregnant woman have been identified.

The two victims who died are Vidal Pacheco, 17, and Dylan Hernandez, 18.

A third West High student who survived, in serious condition, has been identified as Abraham Miranda, 18. A GoFundMe page to help pay for the two funerals and Miranda’s medical expenses has been set up. To reach it, click here.

The fourth victim, who was also seriously injured in the accident, was a Amy Wilson, 32 years old and 35 weeks pregnant. Wilson’s daughter was delivered by caesarean section and is doing well. A GoFundMe page for Wilson and her daughter is at this link.

The page says that Wilson was driving to the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was struck.

The collision happened just after 11 a.m. at 300 West. The students, in a blue Chevy Impala, were traveling at an estimated 70 mph when the car crossed over the center line and into oncoming traffic, hitting a red Honda Pilot driven by the Wilson.

Witnesses at the scene told Salt Lake City Police officers a third car, which was gray, was also involved in the incident, and may have been racing with the Impala. The Salt Lake City Police Department stated Friday afternoon on its Twitter page that the car has been located.

Detective Cody Lougy, Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily on Thursday that some witnesses said it appeared the blue Chevy was possibly racing, or chasing a third car, or just traveling at a high rate of speed.

Lougy implored the driver to come forward. On Friday, the SLCPD Twitter page reported that the car had been located.

SLC School District also tweeted Thursday afternoon: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved in this accident and their families.”

  1. You can tell that whoever in the media decides to post photos of car wrecks in which people were killed have never had a child killed in a car wreck.

They would understand the pain that is caused by seeing an accident scene.

My sympathy and prayers for all involved.
