SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 15, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The U.S. Forest Service wants the public to know that the Peruvian Ridge fire is being monitored by fire personnel. Smoke may be visible from the surrounding area, but there is no need to report it, according to a Forest Service news release.
The fire, reported Oct. 12, was caused by lightning. It is on the ridge line between Alta and Snowbird, on the Salt Lake Ranger District. The Forest Service news release states that the fire is expected to have very little growth potential because of the weather forecast for the area.
