SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The polls are closed and the votes are being tallied in Utah’s 2024 general election.
Election officials says posting of the official tallies was delayed beyond 8 p.m. due to unusually heavy in-person voting Tuesday.
Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson forewarned Utahns that the posting of the vote counts would be delayed until voters who were in line as of 8 p.m. had a chance to fill out their ballots.
“County clerks have been instructed not to publish results until every Utahn waiting in line when the polls close has had a chance to vote,” Henderson said in a Monday release.
