SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, Oct. 1, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Saratoga Springs woman who was struck and killed Monday has been identified as Lola Klein Ferkovich, the Utah County Sheriff‘s Office says.

Ferkovich was 75.

The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m. in the area of Cozy Lane and Floribunda Drive. Ferkovich was crossing the street when she was hit by a vehicle. Because the driver was a Saratoga Springs city employee, an outside agency, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, was brought in to investigate.

The car that hit Ferkovich was driving east, then turned south and hit her.

Saratoga Springs Police and Saratoga Springs Fire Department responded and immediately rendered aid to the injured woman,” the UCSO statement says. “They performed CPR in an effort to revive her.  The woman was flown by an AirMethods medical helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. A short time after her arrival there she died.”

The driver, a 44-year-old Saratoga Springs woman, remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators. This investigation remains active and more details may be given when the investigation is complete.
