SYRACUSE, Utah, Dec. 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Davis County Sheriff’s Office has shared a video of the Syracuse High School Dance Line performing a choreographed number that paid tribute to law enforcement officers.

“It was an honor to spend some time with Syracuse High School Home of the TitansSyracuse High Dance Line and our law enforcement partners tonight, a Facebook post says.

“Huge thanks to the drill team for their hours of practice to ensure tonight’s #ThinBlueLine performance was perfect — it was!”

The recorded narration, played over low music, talked about the injuries and deaths officers shot in a Dallas sniper attack. The simulated sound of bullets was also played as dancers moved chaotically on the stage, a gym basketball floor.

Some viewers who responded to the Facebook post called the topic offensive or distasteful in a world where police brutality is frequently in the headlines. Several viewers thanked the group for what they considered a patriotic act recognizing heroes.

Still others focused on the dance moves, calling the performance “beautiful” and “awesome.”
