Utah COVID-19 update: 1 death, 473 new cases in past 24 hours

UTAH, Aug. 2, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health has reported one more COVID-19 death and an increase of 473 positive cases in the past 24 hours.

The person who died was a Davis County woman between 65 and 84,  a long-term care facility resident.

That death brings Utah’s cumulative total to 311 COVID-19 fatalities.

Utah’s new positive cases bring that total to 41,175 lab-confirmed cases.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 447 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 10.0%.

More numbers

Those currently hospitalized for COVID-19 number 203. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 2,430.

Utah has performed 536,716 tests total. This is an increase of 3,456 people tested from yesterday.

Patients categorized as recovered, defined as still living three weeks after diagnosis, number 29,389.
