Utah COVID-19 update: 1 more death, 472 new cases documented in past day

UTAH, April 22, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Thursday reported one more COVID-19 death and 472 new cases documented in the past 24 hours.

That makes a total of 394,334 known cases and 2,178 confirmed coronavirus deaths.

The person who died was a Summit County woman between 45 and 64, who was hospitalized at the time of death.

Vaccines administered number 1,985,296, an increase of 34,402 from yesterday.

UDoH reports 2,512,546 people tested, and increase of 6,650 people since yesterday. Tests given number 4,525,584, an increase of 16,354 since yesterday.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 386 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.0%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 2.96%.

There are 137 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 16,004.
