UTAH, Feb. 23, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Tuesday reported 12 more COVID-19 deaths and 716 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
The number of confirmed positive cases now stands at 367,789, and total deaths number 1,865. Of the 12 new deaths, seven occurred prior to Feb. 1, the UDoH says.
The 12 who died were:
- A Cache County woman between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
- A Davis County man between 45 and 64, hospitalized
- A Davis County woman between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
- A Salt Lake County man between 65 and 84, not hospitalized
- A Salt Lake County woman between 65 and 85, hospitalized
- A Salt Lake County man between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
- A Salt Lake County woman, older than 85, a long-term care facility resident
- A Sevier County woman, older than 85, not hospitalized
- A Sevier County woman, older than 85, a long-term care facility resident
- A Washington County man between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
- A Utah County man between 65 and 84, a long-term care facility resident
- A Weber County man between 65 and 84, hospitalized
A total of 623,876 total vaccines administered, which is 11,966 more than yesterday. The chart below shows the numbers by area of the state.
UDoH reports 2,172,963 people tested, an increase of 6,458 people tested since yesterday. Total tests administered number 3,724,955, an increase of 18,480 tests since yesterday.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 779 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 13.34%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 6.2%.
There are 239 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 14,520.
