Utah COVID-19 update: 2 more deaths, 249 new cases confirmed in past day

UTAH, June 20, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Sunday confirmed two more COVID-19 deaths and 249 more cases documented in the past day.

Known cases now stand at 411,610 in Utah.

Documented deaths here since the beginning of the pandemic number 2,330.

The two deaths were of hospitalized men. One was a Davis County resident between 45 and 64. The other was a Utah County resident between ages 65 and 84.

Vaccines administered in Utah number 2,790,287, which is 8,114 more than Saturday.

Coronavirus tests have been given to 2,761,298 people, an increase of 2,786 since Saturday. Tests given number 5,047,037, an increase of 4,092 in the past day.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 294 per day.

The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 8.1%. The rolling seven-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 5.3%.

There are 157 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 17,271.
