Utah COVID update: 15 deaths, 1,915 new cases confirmed in past 24 hours

UTAH, Dec. 15, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health on Tuesday reported 15 more COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours and an increase of 1,915 positive cases.

Utah’s lab-confirmed positive coronavirus cases now stand at 237,787.  Total people that have been hospitalized with COVID-19 number 9,585, with 553 hospitalized at present.

Total COVID-related deaths since the beginning of the outbreak number 1,077. Those whose deaths were reported in the past day were of:

  • A female, between 45-64, Weber County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • A male, between 65-84, Iron County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 45-64, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 65-84, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A female, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • A female, between 65-84, Duchesne County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A female, between 65-84, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of deat
  • A female, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 25-44, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 25-44, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
  • A male, between 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A female, between 45-64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, older than 85, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death

COVID-19 tests administered since the beginning number 1,589,855. Of those, 9,012 people tested were tested in the past day.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 2,540 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 23.2%

  1. Way to fan the COVID hysteria. Are you faithfully reporting flu infections and deaths, incidents related to heart disease, stroke victims, highway injuries and deaths, home accidental injuries and deaths, or any other source of untimely death? Well? Are you? No! You are not! So why the continued emphasis and focus on COVID! There’s where the real story resides, if you have the guts to do the honest investigative reporting. But, I hold no illusions that you do.
