SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 3, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation has announced closures of State Route 201 at Mountain View Corridor this week.
“Overnight closures of SR-201 are scheduled to start Aug. 3 and continue through Aug. 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night,” said a news release from UDOT.
Drivers can expect the following:
Aug 3 and 4: full nightly closure of eastbound lanes
Aug 5 and 6: full nightly closure of westbound lanes
“These restrictions will allow crews to set the beams for the Mountain View Corridor bridge over SR-201,” the news release said. “When the project is complete in 2021, Mountain View Corridor will run continuously from 16000 South at Redwood Road to SR-201, where it will connect for the first time with a major east-west freeway. This will improve transportation for residents and businesses in western Salt Lake County, one of the fastest-growing areas in the state.”
Overlooking SR 201 where we’ll be placing bridge beams over the freeway for the Mountain View Corridor project. We’re 50% complete on this 4 mile stretch that connects MVC with the 201. This will change the way people get around on the west side of the valley. @UDOTMVC pic.twitter.com/Yv8HReH6VO
