Utah, Oct. 8, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Division of Water Resources is reminding residents to prepare for the freezing temperatures that are about to arrive.

“Mother Nature brings fall full swing this week,” said a Facebook post from the division Tuesday morning. “Today is going to be a perfect fall day followed by some freezing temps.”

The post said it’s important to shut off the water for the season and clear the pipes Tuesday before the freeze hits northern Utah.

“Freezing pipes can lead to expensive repairs and a whole lot of headaches,” the post said. “Share this post with friends as a friendly reminder to them too!”

A hard freeze warning, which remains in effect from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Friday, has been issued for the northern Wasatch Front and Salt Lake and Tooele Valleys including the cities of Ogden, Bountiful, and Salt Lake City.

Temperatures will dip below freezing both Thursday and Friday morning.
