SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 10, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah National Guard and the Granite School District will host their annual Veterans Day Concert at 7 p.m. Monday at the Tabernacle on Temple Square.
Seating in the tabernacle is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The entire concert will also be live streamed, and links will be available the day of the concert on all Utah National Guard social media platforms, the Guard said in a news release.

At the event, retired Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Sterling Poulson, master of ceremonies, will highlight musical performances by the Utah National Guard’s 23rd Army Band, led by Chief Warrant Officer 2 Spencer Frohm and guest conductors, and the combined Granite School District high school choir.
The event recognizes “all who serve,” specifically highlighting the many supporting roles numerous service members have played behind the scenes of the well-known stories of our military and its veterans.
During the concert, Brig. Gen. Chris Buckner, assistant adjutant general, Utah Air National Guard, will provide remarks to honor veterans and highlight the sacrifice given by Utah service members.
“During the concert, the winners of the statewide Utah PTA and Utah National Guard essay contest will be honored, which recognizes outstanding essays written by students on the theme of ‘Why I am Proud of my Veteran.’ The recipient of the Zions Bank Veterans Service Award, which honors an individual in our community that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for military and veterans will also be recognized.”
Veterans, families, and children of all ages are encouraged to attend the evening.
“The music will include patriotic songs, as well as songs that focus on strength and healing. The Utah National Guard is proud to honor veterans through the celebration of music.”
