SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Utes baseball 2020 schedule has been announced.
Utah has 21 home games at Smith’s Ballpark beginning with a midweek game on March 17 against Utah Valley, followed by hosting Nevada for a series March 20-22, said a press release from the U of U.
The Pac-12 series Utah will host this season are UCLA, Oregon State, Washington, Stanford and Arizona.
“The Utes finished the 2019 season sweeping UC Davis and will open the 2020 season playing at UC Davis on Feb. 14,” the press release said.
In all, the first 16 games of the season will be on the road. Utah plays Saint Mary’s after the UC Davis series and then heads to Corpus Christi, Texas to play in a tournament at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Along with playing the hosts, they’ll also take on Missouri and Kansas State as well. The Utes will then play another Texas team the following weekend with a three-game series against UT Arlington Feb. 28-March 1.
Before starting Pac-12 play, Utah will play the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Minneapolis, Minnesota March 6-8.
The following week, the Utes will travel to Arizona State to begin Pac-12 play before coming home and hosting their first home game of the year against Utah Valley on March 17.
The final non-conference series of the season for Utah will be their first home series of the year against Nevada March 20-22.
Utah has three games scheduled against BYU with two being in Provo on March 24 and April 21 and the third being at Smith’s Ballpark on May 12, the press release said.
The remaining home series for Utah are UCLA (March 27-29), Oregon State (April 17-19), Washington (May 1-3), Stanford (May 8-10) and in the final series of the regular season Arizona (May 21-23).
Utah is currently selling its season-ticket hats. For $25, fans will receive a hat as well as six general admission tickets to all 21 home games.
