UTAH, Aug. 4, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health has reported seven more COVID-19 deaths and 378 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Six who died were in Salt Lake County. They were:
- A woman older than 85, a resident of a long-term care facility
- Two women between 65 and 84, both residents of long-term care facilities
- A man between 65 and 84, hospitalized prior to death
- A man between 65 and 84, a resident of a long-term care facility
- A man older than 85, not hospitalized at time of death
The other victim, was from Davis County, and was:
- A woman between 65 and 84, hospitalized at time of death
Those seven new deaths brings the cumulative total to 321.
The 378 new cases brings Utah’s total to 41,907 positive cases.
The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 428 per day.
The rolling 7-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 9.8%.
Currently, 181 people are hospitalized for the virus. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 2,482.
The number of people tested for coronavirus in Utah is 544,956. That’s an increase of 4,774 people tested from yesterday.
30,449 of our cases are considered “recovered”. A case with a diagnosis date of more than three weeks ago, who has not passed away, is considered recovered.
Patients classified as recovered, defined as still living three weeks after diagnosis, number 30,449.
