Vehicle with mother, 2 children hit by train in Deweyville

DEWEYVILLE, Utah, April 26, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A mother and two children avoided serious injury when their vehicle collided with a train Sunday morning in the Box Elder County town of Deweyville.

Tremonton Fire was dispatched to the scene at 5:30 a.m., as was a crew from the Central Box Elder Fire District. They responded to the scene, on Deweyville’s Main Street.

“Upon arrival, crews found that a mother and her two children had safely exited the vehicle and did not sustain serious injuries,” a Tremonton Fire statement says.

“All occupants were properly restrained with seatbelts. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

“Tremonton Fire extends its sincere appreciation to Box Elder Communications-BECC, Utah Highway Patrol, Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, and Central Box Elder Fire District for their coordinated response and work.”
