VERNAL, Utah, Oct. 29, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials want the public to be aware that a law enforcement and EMS training exercise is scheduled for Tuesday night at the Walmart in Vernal.
A news release from the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office says the training exercise will start at 11 p.m. Tuesday and will end at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Walmart and its parking lot will be closed to the public during those hours, and a large number of first responders will be at the store.
“This is a training exercise, NOT an emergency situation,” the news release says. “DO NOT CALL CENTRAL DISPATCH TO REPORT.”
Members of the public should continue to report actual emergencies by calling 911.
