Salt Lake Police search for suspect who hit victim’s head with rock

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly accused a man of stealing his wallet then hit him three times in the head with a rock.

The incident happened inside the McDonald’s at 916 W. North Temple St. just after 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Salt Lake City Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brandon Shearer said.

“A man was eating lunch when another male approached him and accused him of stealing his wallet,” Shearer said. “The suspect then struck the victim three times in the head with a rock and fled the scene.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was not located. He is described as Polynesian, in his late 30s, medium build, wearing a black shirt and shorts with his hair in dreadlocks.
