GREAT SALT LAKE MARINA, Utah, March 30, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — An unusual-but-happy sight greeted visitors Wednesday at the Great Salt Lake Marina, where dozens of boats “took flight” after spending a year languishing in dry dock.
The boats had to be pulled from the marina back in 2015, when water levels in the Great Salt Lake hit record lows after 17 years of drought.
Now, after one of the wettest winters in recent years, the lake’s water levels are on the rise.
Great Salt Lake Marina harbor master Dave Shearer spoke one-one-one with Bill Gephardt about Wednesday’s “boat launches,” and about the implications the wet weather pattern has for Utah’s snowpack and water levels across the state.
