SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – September, 14, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A subdued University of Utah Coach Kyle Whittingham spoke with the press Monday about the weekend shooting which seriously wounded two varsity football players.

Freshman running back, Marcel Brooks-Brown, and sophomore tight end, Lo Falemaka, were gunned down just before midnight Saturday, while attending a house party at 310 South 1300 East on the fringe of the U. of U. campus.

According to the Salt Lake City Police, the players were shot during an argument between the party’s host and three uninvited guests. Police say the players had just become involved in the altercation when one of the unwanted guest pulled a pistol and shot both students.

The players were rushed to University Hospital in serious condition, but have made significant improvement. Both are expected to not only survive, but ultimately resume their football careers.

The three suspects in the shooting remain at large.
