WASATCH COUNTY, Utah, June 18, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Wasatch County has announced a ban on fires and fireworks amid continuing drought conditions in Utah.

“Please spread the word that there is now a total ban on fires and fireworks in Wasatch County,” said a Facebook post from Wasatch County Fire.

“This includes the municipalities that, in the past, have been exempt from the ban. The only campfires allowed at this time are at a Forest Service-approved campground in a certified pit. The State Parks campgrounds have joined in the ban of all fires.”

Currently the only scheduled fireworks are July 4 on Memorial Hill, July 24 at the Charleston Park, the Demolition Derby and the Wasatch County Fair Days Rodeo. This is due to the fact that they are set off by certified pyrotechnicians.

“Please help us keep Wasatch County fire free,” the post said.
