WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah, March 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The fourth of five men wanted in connection with a Saturday morning burglary and assault in Washington Terrace has been arrested.

Tazio Rodriguez, 23, turned himself in on Wednesday and was arrested, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. Still being sought is Mario Serrano, 25.

According to WCSO information, a call came in at 1:56 a.m. Saturday reporting a burglary in progress at the Lake Park Apartment Complex, near 4800 South and 350 East.

Witnesses reported seeing several males kick in an apartment door, and told officers they could hear a woman screaming. Deputies arrived on scene within two minutes, and forced entry into the apartment.

Inside the apartment deputies found three suspects and the victim. Deputies arrested Matthew Nevarez, 26, and James Mayberry, 24. Travis Mixon, 19, was arrested outside of the apartment in a vehicle.

Rodriguez and Serrano were able to escape out a back window, according to the statement from the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim in this case was a female who did not know the suspects. She reported that as she was sleeping her apartment door was kicked in. As she got up to investigate the suspects grabbed her and identified themselves as police officers.

During the course of the incident, they punched and kicked her, demanding money, she told WCSO officers. In investigating the incident it appears the suspects may have been targeting a previous tenant of the apartment.

Mixon and Nevarez were each arrested and booked into the Weber County Correctional Facility on aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, assault and impersonating a police officer. Mayberry was booked on aggravated burglary.

Anyone with information on Serrano is encouraged to call Detective Freestone of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 801-778-6916 or the Weber Consolidated Dispatch Center at 801-395-8221.

  1. Sunday morning 3/26/17 I noticed some one had gone through my vehicle that was parked in my drive way. Glove box , Center console had been messed up. A pair of Oakley sunglasses that were in my Center console were open but not missing. They went through my daughters back pack, all the zippers were open . I didn’t notice anything gone but someone was looking for something of value. I live on 100 E. In Washington Terrace. Kinda creepy
