WEBER COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 1, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Weber County Sheriff‘s Office and Weber Fire District on Saturday responded to the Skyline Trail on a report of a 46-year-old motorcyclist who suffered a medical event.

The nature of the medical event was not disclosed in a news release by the WCSO. The call came in just after 4 p.m.

“The male’s adult son was able to hike down to a house in North Ogden where he was able to use a phone to call for help,” the release says. “Neither the male or his son had cell phones with them.

“A drone was deployed to assist in locating the male as it was not known where on the trail the male was. The drone team was able to direct the DPS Aero Bureau helicopter to the patient where he was hoisted out and to a waiting ambulance.”

The male was checked by medical staff and was cleared at the scene.

“We would like to thank all that were involved in the rescue of this male. A reminder when going out to the backcountry, come prepared. Make sure you have a fully charged cell phone, extra water and snacks. You never know when you could become lost or need help.”
