LIBERTY, Utah, Aug. 30, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire near North Fork Road in Liberty.

The site of the fire, estimated at 780 acres, is believed to be a gun range.

“Crews are currently on scene,” said a Weber Fire District Facebook post, entered at 4 p.m. “More resources are incoming. We will continue to post updates as we receive them.”

A community resource page for the area had posts from area residents. One said a helicopter on the scene was pulling water from his ponds to dump on the fire.

On its Twitter page, Powder Mountain officials announced that the resort was undergoing a precautionary evacuation, and that State Route 158 was closed due to the wildfire.

The resort also said that the final race of the Paper Airplane MTB series was canceled.

An evacuation center is being set up at Snowcrest Junior High, 2755 N. Highway 162 in Eden, Weber County officials said.
