WEBER COUNTY, Utah, June 4, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A 29-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle rollover on a dirt road in an unincorporated area of Weber County in the early hours of Monday morning.
Deputies were in the area of 200 S. 7500 West in rural western Weber County at approximately 3:15 a.m. when they came across an SUV that had rolled several times, according to a news release from Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
A short time later, deputies located a man, who had been ejected from the vehicle, laying in a ditch about 25 feet from the vehicle.
Deputies began medical treatment on the man until EMS personnel arrived. He was then flown by helicopter to a local hospital.
Once at the hospital, he was pronounced deceased by ER doctors.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle, officials said.
Traffic investigators determined that speed was a factor in the crash. The victim was also not wearing his seatbelt.
It is unknown exactly when the crash happened prior to deputies finding the man.
Officials said they will be releasing the identity of the victim later Monday or early Tuesday pending notification of family members.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
