WEBER COUNTY, Sept. 6, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Weber County Sheriff’s official has been placed on paid administrative leave after being charged on suspicion of DUI and interfering with an arrest.
Kevin Morris, a corporal with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division, was arrested Friday.
“Weber County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reckless driver complaint in Plain City,” a statement from the department says. “Upon arrival, deputies determined that the suspect was an off-duty corrections corporal.
“The investigation was referred to the Utah Highway Patrol. Subsequently, Mr. Morris was taken into custody.”
Morris was booked into the Box Elder County Jail to avoid a conflict of interest.
“Corporal Kevin Morris has been placed on paid administrative leave, and an internal investigation has been initiated,” the WCSO statement says.
