Wellington residents in Carbon County evacuated due to gas line leak

WELLINGTON, Utah, Oct. 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Homes in Wellington have been evacuated because of a gas line leak Sunday night.

According to a news release, residents who are affected have been notified, and evacuations are expected to remain in effect for approximately 18-24 hours.

The police are asking residents to avoid the Main Street/Highway 6 area for the time being.

A Red Cross representative will be meeting with those needing assistance at the Wellington Stake Center at 900 E Main, the Wellington Fire Department said in a news update.
