TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Aug. 15, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a robber who targeted a Wells Fargo bank, said he had a gun, and fled south on foot.

Lt. Lex Bell from the Unified Police Department said the robbery occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. Monday at the branch at 3981 W. 4700 South, Taylorsville.

Bell said the robber presented a note to the teller demanding $15,000, but no gun was seen. He received the money, then fled on foot.

UPD has been joined by West Valley City Police Department, as well as K-9 units to search for the robber, but Bell said it’s possible the man has evaded containment.

The suspect was described by police as being approximately 35, 5-feet-5-inches tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing shorts, a backpack and a panama hat.

Anyone who has any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
