WENDOVER, Utah, Sept. 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Wendover Police Department in Utah will have increased police presence at two schools following threatening comments made online.

“The Wendover PD and the Tooele County School District are responding to threatening comments that were made recently on a social media source,” said a Facebook post from the police department Monday night.

As a precaution, Wendover Police will have a presence at the Wendover High School at 110 S. Wildcat Blvd. and Anna Smith Elementary School at 731 N. Aria Blvd. Both schools are in Tooele County School District.

“Wendover students are asked not to bring backpacks to school Tuesday or Wednesday,” the post said. “The campus at both schools will be closed to nonstudents. The Wendover Police Department appreciates the community’s cooperation while we keep our children safe.”
