WEST HAVEN, Utah, June 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Weber County toddler fell from a third-floor window Tuesday afternoon, and landed in a basement window well.

The call came to dispatch at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. Cortney Ryan, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, told Gephardt Daily. Crews responded to the scene, the Haven Pointe Apartments at 2265 S. 1100 West, West Haven.

The boy, who is almost 2, was conscious and alert on scene, Ryan said. The child was transported to McKay Dee Hospital for evaluation.

“The mom went into the bathroom for a short period and the child was leaning up against the screen” Ryan said. “The screen came loose, and the child fell approximately 20 feet into a rocky area.

“The child never lost consciousness. He must have landed just right to protect his head.”

No update on the child’s condition has been released. Gephardt Daily will have more information as it becomes public.
