WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Oct. 8, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — When officers responded to a domestic situation Saturday night, they encountered a man who seemed to want to fight with everyone, including the police.

It was initially reported that the man had been drinking and was yelling obscenities out the window.

The first officer to arrive at the home on 3395 South had to call for backup, said Roxeanne Vainuku, public information officer for West Valley City Police.

Even after additional officers arrived, the man was so combative, police used a Taser multiple times to subdue him.

A small child was in the home, which heightened the concern for safety and the need to bring the man under control.

Several units were called to the location, including medical personnel.

The child was found to be unhurt, and no one else was injured.

Vainuku said that because the man was stunned multiple times, he was taken directly to a hospital to be checked out. She said he would likely be taken to jail after that.
