WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Feb. 9, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police were dispatched to a mobile home park Saturday night on a call indicating that someone was in medical trouble or dying of a heart attack. When officers arrived, though, they realized they were probably dealing with a homicide.

West Valley City Police spokesperson Roxanne Vainuku said the call was received at about 6:24 p.m., and officers responded to Windsor Estates Trailer Park, at 3292 W. Chester Park Drive.

“When officers arrived and went inside, they discovered evidence that a homicide had taken place inside the trailer,” Vainuku said.

At that point, she said, the officers made sure there was no threat or danger to anyone, secured the scene, and stepped back from the trailer.

“We’re in the process of getting a search warrant to get in to see exactly what we’re dealing with,” she said, adding that there was “significant evidence” to make officers think a homicide had occurred.

No information was available as to exactly what the responding officers had observed upon entering the trailer.

An investigative team was already at work, talking to neighbors and possible witnesses, and gathering whatever evidence was available while awaiting the search warrant.

“With the search warrant, they can go in, check everything, and do a thorough investigation,” Vainuku said.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
