West Jordan police investigating possible child abduction attempt

WEST JORDAN, Utah, June 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — West Jordan police are investigating a possible abduction attempt on an 8-year-old girl that occurred Sunday evening.

West Jordan Police Department officials said the incident occurred in the area of 3600 W. 7800 South when the girl reported to officials she was riding a bike and came around a corner, then she said a man scared her and she fell off her bike.

The girl told police the man then grabbed her arm and said something to the effect of “come here you stupid girl.”

The child told police she feared he was trying to take her, though officials aren’t positive of that. The girl kicked him, then ran home and told her parents, who called police.

The incident is under investigation and police are attempting to determine exactly what happened.

The man is described as being Caucasian, in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, and dark hair, shaved on the sides.

The man also has gauges in both ears, three piercings in his lower lip on the left side and possibly a black nose ring.

West Jordan officials said they hope to have more information soon..
