MILLCREEK, Utah, March 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a 65-year-old woman who died Sunday night after being hit by a car at 3900 South and 500 East in Millcreek.

Unified Police Department Lt. Brian Lohrke said Vicki Holbrook was struck by a car at about 6:30 p.m. as she attempted to cross the road just south of 3900 South.

Holbrook, who was not in a crosswalk when she was hit by the car traveling southbound on 500 East, was transported to Intermounain Medical Center in critical condition. She died a couple of hours later, Lohrke said.

The female driver of the car stayed at the scene and told police she didn’t see the woman crossing the street.

Police said the area is not well lit, Holbook was wearing dark clothing, and visibility was not good due to stormy weather conditions.

Lohrke said the investigation is ongoing but at this time the driver is not facing charges.

Holbrook’s son Joshua has set up a GoFundMe page to help to pay for funeral expenses.

Joshua Holbrook wrote of his mother on the page.

“My most precious mother was struck and killed by a car while walking some movies back to Redbox on Sunday night.. I am trying to raise money to cover her funeral cost as I do not have it.. My mom was the nicest most sincere and loving person I’ve ever known and I’m needing your help in our time of need.”
