According to a news release from Sgt. Jason Nielsen, Sandy Police public information officer, the crash happened at approximately 6:56 p.m. at the intersection of Highland Drive and Falcon Way.

A white 2014 Honda Accord driven by an adult male collided with a brown 1998 Saturn SL2 driven by an adult female. A child was also in the Saturn.

The man was not injured and wasn’t transported to the hospital, the release states.

The adult female was in critical condition and was transported to Intermountain Medical Center. The child was in extremely critical condition and was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital.

The Collision And Reconstruction (CAR) unit is on scene investigating the accident.  Nielsen said details are limited because of the ongoing investigation.
