HERRIMAN, Utah, Dec. 28, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Herriman woman has been arrested for allegedly attempting to arrange the murder of her ex-husband and his new wife.

Detectives from the Unified Police Violent Crimes Unit arrested Linda Gillman, 69, Tuesday on suspicion of criminal solicitation (murder), according to a news release from the department.

“Detectives were able to gather strong evidence directly linking Linda Gillman in the plan to have her ex-husband and new wife killed in either a propped ‘accident’ or a break-in gone wrong,” the UPD statement said. Lt. Brian Lohrke from UPD said that a ‘propped accident’ means Gillman allegedly intended to make the incident look like an accident.

“It is alleged Gillman planned on using $25,000 from a life insurance policy to pay for the murder,” the news release concluded.

Gillman spoke with detectives and denied any knowledge of the murder plan.

She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on two first-degree felony counts of criminal solicitation (murder).

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
