Woman critically injured in auto-pedestrian accident near University of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman was critically injured in an auto-pedestrian accident on Salt Lake City’s eastside on Saturday morning.

The accident happened at 6:46 a.m. at the intersection of Foothill Drive and Wakara Way, Lt. Brett Olsen, Salt Lake City Police Department, confirmed to Gephardt Daily.

The 60-year-old victim was transported to the U of U Hospital, Olsen said. Her name has not been released, nor have details on her injuries.

The driver who struck the woman remained at the scene, and is cooperating with police, Olsen said.

The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team, also known as a CART team, was called in to investigate and document the scene.
