CENTERVILLE, Utah, Aug. 13, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) A 36-year-old Centerville woman was killed early Saturday morning while walking with her dog in the northbound lanes of I-15.
A spokesman for the Utah Highway Patrol told Gephardt Daily that Davis County emergency dispatchers received a call about a woman and her dog walking in the travel lanes on I-15 at Parrish Lane just after 3 a.m.
Officers were on the way to the scene, when dispatchers received a call from a semi-truck driver who said he had just hit the woman and her dog.
Both were deceased by the time first responders arrived.
The woman has been identified as 36-year-old Centerville resident Laurie Lake.
Investigators are trying to determine why Lake was walking on the interstate and say they have not ruled out the possibility that she was attempting to harm herself.
