SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, June 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman had to be extricated from her SUV after it struck another vehicle on Interstate 80 in Parley’s Canyon, went off the road and rolled.

The crash occurred at about 5 p.m. Friday, as two SUVs, one pulling a trailer, somehow came into contact near mile marker 130, a Utah Highway Patrol news release said.

According to UHP, the SUV being driven by an elderly female continued down the canyon and, at the next curve, went off the road. It traveled for some distance and struck a large road sign and several bushes and small trees.

It then hit a large hole, causing the vehicle to roll onto its top.

The woman had to be extricated and a helicopter was called; however, the helicopter either didn’t respond or was cancelled. Instead, the woman was transported to the hospital by an ambulance, “with mild injuries,” according to the news release.

No one in the other vehicle was injured.
