WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Dec. 16, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Detectives in West Valley City are investigating the death of woman who was found lying in the street early Sunday morning.

The deceased woman has been identified by police as Tequila Garcia, 36.

West Valley City Police Lt. Kent Stokes told Gephardt Daily dispatchers received a call just before 2 a.m. about an auto-pedestrian accident in front of a home at 2855 West 3785 South.

When officers arrived they found Garcia lying in the road in extremely critical condition.

Stokes said it appeared she had been hit by one or possibly two vehicles.

Medical crews arrived moments later and declared Garcia deceased.

A review of the first calls from emergency dispatchers reveal police were sent to the home after reports of an altercation between someone inside the residence and the occupants of two vehicles out front.

According to the caller, Garcia was struck when the vehicles drove from the scene.

Stokes said investigators would be in the area for several hours.

Gephardt Daily will update the story as more information becomes available.
