Police: Man hit, injured by own vehicle as female car thief flees in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 12, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A man suffered minor injuries after a woman stole his car, then hit him with it while fleeing.

A news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department said the incident took place Sunday just before 7:20 p.m. in a residential area at 339 N. 1000 West.

“The victim had started his vehicle and then exited it,” the news release said. “A female jumped into the driver’s seat and drove away, hitting the victim as she fled.”

The victim was treated on scene, and did not need to be transported to hospital.

Police do not have a detailed description of the suspect other than that she is Caucasian and approximately 30 years old.
