Woman in serious condition after being hit by car in Provo crosswalk

PROVO, Utah, Feb. 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A 44-year-old woman is in serious condition after being hit by a car when she was in a Provo crosswalk Monday evening.

Provo Police Department officials said the woman was crossing in the area of 800 North and 500 West at approximately 5:30 p.m.

A woman was driving east on 800 North and turned south onto 500 West, where she struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in serious condition, officials said. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officials. No impairment is suspected.

The woman who was hit was not identified.
