UTAH COUNTY, UTAH – July 2, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) Utah County Sheriff’s office has confirmed a woman was seriously injured after falling off a trail in Mt. Timpanogos Wednesday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Spencer Cannon, Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the 48-year-old woman fell nearly 150 feet off the trail by Emerald Lake.

“We were called just before noon on Wednesday and responded fairly quickly. Life Flight was called and were unable to land close enough to her so we dispatched another helicopter that was able retrieve the woman with the use of the hoist. She was then transported to the Life Flight that was nearby and is currently in transport to IMC in Murray,” said Cannon.

Cannon verified the woman was responsive and talking appropriately to officers and other medical personal. “She had some back pain and a fall like this can be very critical, we are unsure what other injuries she has at this point but they do not appear to be life threatening.”

Cannon was able to tell us the woman is from Farmington but no other identifying information was available.
